COMMITTEES

Following is a list of PTA committee heads for this school year:

ALUMNI

The Alumni Committee provides a focal point for bringing together and keeping track of former LaSalle students.  They host two events every year where alumni are invited back to LaSalle.

BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE

The Beautification Committee assists administration in organizing volunteer efforts with building and grounds improvement projects.  They also coordinate involvement of LLA in community wide clean-up and improvement projects.

BUDGET AND FINANCE

The Budget and Finance Committee considers all recommendations and then reviews the budget forthe PTA.   They also oversee the completion of the audit.

CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

The Campus Development Committee assists LLA in its efforts to expand its facilities.

Co-Chairs: Dana Levenson, Robert Weil

COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVES

The Community Representatives Committee coordinates activities that deal with new LLA families and activities involving both the community and LLA.  Specifically, they host the kindergarten welcome coffee, new parent breakfast, and serve as a resource for new families.

FINE ARTS COMMITTEE

The Fine Arts Committee helps to develop school arts programs.  See attached document with details for this year.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE ENRICHMENT COMMITTEE

The Foreign Language Enrichment Committee (FLEC) supports the World Language programcoordinator in organizing the host family and student activities related to the exchange programs.  Foreign language teacher support is provided for overseas travel.  This committee also introduces cultural highlights during International Week and on world language based holidays.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

The Fundraising Committee plans money-raising events to support the operation of special programs and events at LLA.

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE

The Hospitality Committee coordinates refreshments for various school functions throughout the year.

Co-Chairs: Donna Zarei, Sally Shackleton

MULTI-CULTURAL/MULTI-LINGUAL ACTION COMMITTEE

The Multi-Cultural/Multi-Lingual Action Committee organizes special activities and resources to showcase and explore LaSalle’s multi-cultural diversity.

Co-Chairs: Leticia Martin, Ben-Hur Uribe

NUTRITION AND WELLNESS COMMITTEE

The Nutrition and Wellness Committee promotes health and nutrition by planning school events and activities for students, families, and staff.

PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE

The Publications Committee produces the directory, the yearbook, and the school newsletter, “The LaSalle Ledger.”

ROOM REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE

The Room Representatives Committee organizes room representatives for each classroom and works with the teachers to coordinate special events and build friendly and supportive communications between the classroom and parents.

SAFETY AND HEALTH COMMITTEE

The Safety and Health Committee works the school’s administration on safety and provides consultations and activities related to health of the school’s population.

Co-Chairs: Sean Slattery, Ben Hosek

SPORTS COMMITTEE

The Sports Committee arranges for extracurricular athletic events, including the traditional LLA Long Distance Classic and 50 yard dash, afterschool athletic teams, and an annual ski trip.

VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE

The Volunteer Committee assists in recruiting volunteers for school related activities.  All parents are welcomed and encouraged to participate throughout the year as their schedules permit.  There is something for everyone and often times a few hours, once a year, is all that is required.
